Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau interiors are defined by fluid lines, organic forms, and a strong connection to nature. Emerging at the turn of the 20th century, the style rejected industrial rigidity in favor of handcrafted beauty and decorative unity. Interiors often feature flowing curves, floral and botanical motifs, stained glass, and intricate metalwork. Wood is carved rather than flat, and furniture feels sculptural instead of purely functional. Color palettes are soft but expressive—sage green, muted gold, dusty blue, warm cream—often inspired by plants and natural light. Walls, lighting, furniture, and decorative objects are designed as a cohesive whole, rather than independent pieces. In modern interpretations, Art Nouveau is usually distilled: one or two sinuous elements, a statement lamp, or a decorative panel bring the spirit without overwhelming the space.
